Beach Holidays in St Mawes, South Cornwall
St Mawes has an abundance of beaches that are all safe for children with sandy shores and rock pools to keep them occupied for many hours. In the summer these beaches give a good view of all the activities on the water and the calm seas of the south coast of Cornwall mean these waters are ideal for snorkelling and boating.
Slightly further afield are Pendower and Carne beaches that combine shortly after high tide to give a lovely expanse of sand that is almost a mile long. These beaches are also dog friendly so you may include your dog on days out even during the peak season as long as they are on a lead. Just above Carne beach sits The Nare Hotel, the only 4 red star hotel in Cornwall. You can enjoy light lunches, afternoon and evening meals in their informal hotel restaurant The Quarterdeck. Non residents and children are welcome, all they ask is that you are clothed and not in wet beach attire.
There are a good number of other more remote beaches dotted along the Roseland coastline, some may require a bit of walk to get to but are well worth the effort for an afternoon of peace and quiet, you may not see another person all day! From your holiday cottage in St Mawes you can access a number of beaches within a short stroll or choose to walk further afield and combine a days walking with a picnic lunch on the beach.
